NGC6992 Veil Nebula in Ha (Narrow Band)

NGC6992 Veil Nebula in Ha (Narrow Band)

Captured Sept. 3, 2012 from Split Rock Observatory during a full moon!
Scope: Televue NP-101is with TV 0.8 focal reducer
Camera: ST-8300C using Ha Filter
Exposure: 80 minutes (8 X 10min)

The black & white image you see is actually red but technically is a color of red that our human eyes can't see. The image was taken during a full moon using a Hydrogen Alpha Filter which blocks ALL light except at the wavelength of 680 nanometres (into the infrared spectrum).
