I have a hate for:
- 12V cigarette lighter adapters
- AC power supplies (and the tangle of wires)
- AC Inverters.
Astrophotography requires an unbelievable number of wires and cables each having its own voltage requirement. My solution was to power everything from a single 12V power supply with built-in regulated power modules for 5V USB Hub and 8V Canon DSLR Camera.
To reduce the number of wires dangling down from the scope, I built a second remote console that incorporates relays USB devices, ST4 autoguider and DB9 focuser controller. A single bundle of cable is all that "dangles" from the scope(s).
