On September 21, 2007 the Heaven, Earth, and this humble man were in celestial harmony as all of my research came into alignment and allowed me to take a sequence of 2 minute exposures while my trusty mount was guided by an assembly of cameras, computer, power supplies, and an unbelievable number of cables

Getting to this point took 1 ½ years of research, study, and acquisition of components and other accessories that would make long exposure astrophotography possible.

The target was M31. The Andromeda Galaxy.

On this night everythng seemed to be working but I could not be certain due to my inexperience.

I inspected each image as they were downloaded onto my laptop. The images were dim but I could see that I had a faint smudge. I was not impressed but I persevered in hopes that the final combining of each image would resemble a Galaxy.

The following day, when I combined my sequence of images into a single photograph, I was rewarded with utter amazement. My own personal history in the making.

Thus began my Astrophotography Obsession!
